How to Choose a Water Treatment Company in Bangladesh

Water treatment quotations for the same stated requirement can vary widely between suppliers in Bangladesh. Here is what tends to separate a workable proposal from one that looks similar on paper but performs differently in practice.

This article explains the treatment objective, the design information that matters and the operating checks that help keep the system practical after installation.

The same request can produce very different quotations

Ask three suppliers for "an RO plant for my factory" or "a whole-house water filter" and it is common to receive three quite different proposals, at three different prices, each described in similar-sounding terms. That is not necessarily because one supplier is dishonest and the others are not — it is often because the request itself was underspecified, and each supplier filled in the missing assumptions differently. Getting a comparable set of quotations starts with giving every supplier the same basic information, not with comparing whatever each one happened to propose.

Ask whether a water test came before the proposal

A proposal built without reference to an actual water test — or one that recommends the same standard package regardless of what the source water test shows — is a reasonable thing to be cautious about. Feed-water quality (iron, hardness, TDS, arsenic, turbidity, microbiological result) materially changes what pretreatment, membrane specification and downstream design are actually appropriate; a supplier that proposes a system before establishing this, or that does not ask for it, may be selling a standard package rather than designing around the actual requirement.

Compare scope, not just headline capacity or price

Two quotations both stating "5,000 LPH RO system" can include very different actual scope — one might include pretreatment, storage, pumping, controls, installation, commissioning and a defined maintenance period; another might be the membrane skid alone, with pretreatment, storage, installation and startup quoted separately or not included at all. Comparing the full delivered scope, not just the headline capacity figure, is the only way to meaningfully compare price between suppliers.

Ask what happens after installation, not just during it

Consumables (membranes, filter cartridges, chemicals), routine maintenance requirements, and what support is available if something goes wrong after commissioning are all part of the real cost and reliability of a system over its working life — not just the upfront installation. A supplier who can clearly explain what maintenance the system will need, roughly how often, and what after-sales support looks like is generally a more useful signal than one who focuses only on the installation itself.

Be cautious of specific claims that are hard to verify

Claims about exact contaminant removal percentages, specific health outcomes, or government approvals are worth asking to see documented rather than accepting as stated — a credible supplier should be able to explain what a claim is actually based on (a membrane manufacturer's published specification, a specific test result, an actual certificate) rather than only asserting it. This is not about assuming bad faith; it is simply that verifiable claims are more useful to a buyer than unverifiable ones, regardless of how confidently either is stated.

A reasonable set of questions to ask any supplier

  • Has our actual source water been tested, and does the proposal reference those results?
  • What exactly is included in the quoted price — pretreatment, storage, pumping, installation, commissioning, and for how long is support included afterward?
  • What consumables and maintenance will this system need, and roughly how often?
  • Can you explain the treatment process in plain terms, not just list equipment model numbers?
  • What happens if the source water changes (seasonal variation, a new well, a different supply) — does the system still work, or would it need to be reassessed?

A supplier willing to answer these directly, and to say plainly when something needs further testing or assessment rather than guessing, is generally a better sign than one offering an immediate fixed answer to every question without qualification.
